Mother's Day Cookies and Flowers

So what do you do when your mom lives across the country and you want to send her flowers and some cookies for Mother's Day? Well... besides the obvious.

The answer: send her flower cookies!

This is what I came up with for my mom this Mother's Day. I wanted bright spring colors and decided to go with pink, orange and white.

I got together all of the flower cookie cutters I had so there would be different shapes and sizes of cookies.

First I added dots to the middle of the flowers and let them dry.

I did polka dots on a lot of the flowers. I just think they're so cute.
And really easy! I just piped the outline of the flower petals and filled it in right away with the flood icing (I used the same consistency for outlining and flooding). Then while the cookie is still wet, pipe on small dots of a different color icing.

So if you don't want to give another bouquet of flowers this Mother's Day, how about some edible ones?

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there and a special Happy Mother's Day to my mom :-)

Do you have any plans for special treats or gifts for your mom this Mother's Day?
